I got that game, Crimson Skies... pretty cool flying game. I'd say I got half way to three quarters of the way through the game. It's set up to autosave after the completion of each mission. Everything's been fine, but I just tried to play... when I selected my player, the game started on the first fuckin' mission! I can't pull up any of my current missions. I even looked in the saved games folder and I see all of my games there, but the game is showing my guy as a new charcter! WTF!!! That pisses me off!  ------------------

I had to go thru the same thing several times with UT until I learned I needed to backup the INI file/s. IP: Logged |

Well.. figured out the problem, and caused a new problem in the process. I checked some CS message boards and it turns out that this is a known problem, and they've released a patch for it already... v1.01. I downloaded and installed that path this weekend. I enterned the game and checked my version and it still said v1.0  . So, I tried to reinstall the patch and I get a message "Patch is already installed correctly." Hmmmmm. Ok, after that I uninstall the game in hopes of reinstalling the game and patch. I reboot, run setup, and get a message box with the title of "Setup, but it doesn't have a message... and setup stops . I then went into my registry and deleted anything to do with Crimson skies. I reboot and try to run setup again... nope. Still won't let me run setup. Fucking piece of shit! I can't even install it now!!!My friend tried to run it the weekend and ran into another problem... when he tried to run the game it said there was a problem with his sound card. How funny... he haas the exact same hardware configuration, OS, and drivers that I do and I was playing the game fine (at the time). ------------------

Yeah, I have the game too. I only ran into the save problem. GRRRRR, nothings more frustrating than loosing your game when YOUR RIGHT AT THE LAST MISSION !!!!!!!! I got the patch and I am okay now. IP: Logged | |
