Well compared to the billions of years the universe has existed, 40 years is nothing. And since the universe is constantly expanding it makes it difficult to find one tiny spec of dust out there that is in comparable size to earth and has the perfect conditions to house any life, much less intellegent life. We don't currently have the technology to discover if there is life in any sector of the milky way, our galaxy that houses billions of solar systems, and it is just one tiny galaxy among billions in the universe. So please let those who are searching for intellegent life keep on searching, and don't complain, as they have a lot of searching left to do.
