I cannot get UT to work when set for 32bit color depth. UT desktop gets screwed up and mouse pointer disappears. Does anyone else have this problem?

What color depth are you running your desktop at? Try running desktop at 32 bit if you arent already.

Shouldnt UT run at the same colour quality as your desktop?
It seems to me your monitor just can't handle the colour...

Two questions:

  • Are you using Direct3D rendering, such as with an Nvidia card?

  • Are you running UT v436?

If so, you may be experiencing the D3D bug in v436. You'll need the d3ddrv.dll from v432 to fix all your menus. Right click and save this file. Then put it in the \UnrealTournament\System\ directory.

Also the refresh rate is important. If it's set to "optimal" or "default" then UT won't run 32 bit color. At least that's what happens on my system anyway.

I'm running UT 436. Monitor is set for 32 bit with 75hz refresh on a Nvidia Riva TNT2 video card.
