Topic: How do players kill you in one shot in multiplayer games?

I have played UT for a long time now, and Im pretty good at it, but when I play games on servers, it blows me away how people can shoot me one time and wipe me out, while i blast and blast them and they appear to get no damage. How are they doing this, and how can I keep from getting slaughtered by it? It really takes the fun out of the game.IP: Logged |

If your health level is only 30, then you will die easily by a single shot.Head shots can kill instantly, and can be dealt by most weapons. Headshots are an integral part of the game. People who don't seem to die have one or more of three advantages.
They are better than you.
They have armour or super-health.
They have a longer ping or a much shorter ping than you. To improve your kill rate you can:
Get a faster connection.
Get better at aiming.
Always health/armour up during play.
Spam the game calling everyone cheaters. IP: Logged |

I understand that, but this happens as soon as i enter a game with full health. And i have a cable modem connection so my connection is excellent, and I have over 300 megs of memory so its not my speed or anything like that. I understand about headshots, but its almost every single time i go into a game. My friend has the same problem. Are there cheats people are using?IP: Logged |

Yes yes, like if you play a game against godlike bots (well when I do anyway) as soon as I enter the game I am killed. I have no time to even move. Whats up with that?------------------

Maybe he means when he joins a game, there are too many people to have a spawn point each. Therefore, somebody spawns on top of you killing you STRAIGHT away...I fricken hate that IP: Logged |

Driphter this fast kill in multiplayer is what is called spawn killing.
If you are joining facing worlds especially.
A chosen few will sit in a game and find the spawn points then kill kill kill.
I am an expert on this as you can tell by my name.
If you want to avoid it here's what to do -
-Find servers with respectable players
-Move your ass or it's mine
-on spawn quickly t/l outta there
-Learn to be quick on your feetBest bet is to find servers with respectable players.(still a few around)
Facing Worlds is a bad place to be if this frustrates you because people like me live off pissing people like you off and that map is the best for it. Just so you know I really am not a bad person but i just want to have fun playing. I am a self centred prick that only cares about himself when it comes to gaming

I agree with lots of what you say!! But uh, not most weapons deal head shots, ain't it just sniper rifle and ... the blade one...the razor blade gun, i forget the name thats my most hated gun, its horrible!

It's much harder to get headshots with the radius damage weapons because they tend to work on both the head and body boxes. A headshot is a significant portion of damage dealt only to the head box.It's easy to get headshots with the high damage scanhit weapons, but the effect isn't limited to them. A tip: On Face the enforcer is a sure kill weapon. You can use it to take out people on the other side of the map if you know how. IP: Logged |

I agree with D.Only on some games i find some players very very difficult to kill and also taking me out with one incredible headshot! I`ve been playing for 2 yrs and have cable. I can obviously take you down with a headshot so i know what`s possible. I not saying their cheating prob just World class! ------------------
