I get an error when trying to install the update patch that it can't read the CD right. I've tried both my DVD-rom and my CD-RW and I get the error. I also tried copying the entire CD to the hard drive and it still didn't work. What's wrong? (I have the Unreal Tournament CD that comes with the Sound Blaster Live! X-Gamer)

I think he may be talking about the 436 patch....I got the same error when upgrading the GOTY edition from 432. The thing is....the error popped up on the screen about not being able to read the CD even as the patch ran in the background. Just ignore the error until the upgrade completes, and then your all set.
