I have just installed the above card and UT wont run -it freezes up after i move the mouse on the menu-this is in D#D mode and open GL mode-the only way I cane get it to run is software mode. Hercules gave me a fix (as I was having problems with other D3D games ) but it still wont work. I can run Deus Ex and Undying (same engine etc) with no problem-any ideas ( iave driver 7.53 and the D3D driver from Nvidia). I have uninstalled and re-installed, still the same problem. Any help is apprecaited. (it is version 436)

What version of DirectX do you have? If it's 8, try going back to 7. If it's not, try going up to 8.

Make sure to get completely rid of the files/drivers from your previous video card. Sometimes this is hard to do, that's why when I install a new video card I reformat the drive. I don't really mind it though because on average I do it at least once or twice a month.

Dude - I hope you were kidding about re-formatting twice a month. Thats insane. As far as your problem goes Lustmord, I agree with TG1. The first thing I would do is boot into safe mode and open up the device manager tab. Under display adapters look for more then one (hopefully your old one will show up and you can remove it. For some reason or another, when you remove hardware, some of it disappears from the Device Manager within Normal windows, but is still resident. Safe mode shows you everything...

Shit - sorry to double post, but one more thing...Did you try re-installing UT? You said that you un-installed and re-installed, but I didnt know if you were talking about UT or the card....

Your problem may have something to do with the way it was setup with your older card.

I just installed the same card & reinstalled Undying with DirectX8. UT still had my 3dfx info which I changed. Also had to delete all 3dfx info. New card works great with both games.

OMG, you are so damn stupid!
That doesn't even make any sense. Where did you get this 3dfx Voodoo 3 3300 from? First off, there is no such video card called a "Voodoo 3 3300", and secondly, no one even mentioned anything about having a Voodoo 3 as the video card they currently use. Loser.

Klutch: Yeah man, at least once or twice a month for the reformats. More like only once a month now a days, I haven't done it twice a month for a while.
