I can get some generic 256 sd ram for 70 bucks. but name brand name is gonna cost me 110. Does it make a diff if I have geric or what?

It doesn't matter that much, but it would help if you know what metal is used for the pins. Try to match them to that used in the sockets in the motherboard. Corrosion is increased with mixed metals, and you may not have any problems for up to a year later, when suddenly your system takes a dive.

Well if you want to try overclocking stick with micron or kingston memory.

i got a 128mb chip for 70 bucks with overnight shipping...pc133, dammit!

works great too. helps if its good ram if you use win2k, also

Oh yeah that is good too, but I can get 256mb Kingston PC-133 memory for $90 with get in my car and drive home at 90mph shipping

Oh yea......well I got 256 megs of PC133 Micron RAM for 80 bucks. SO THERE. And when it gets warmer I can ride my CBR600 home from work at 80mph......and probably get pulled over.
