I have a choice out of these two (boss is paying ), I could use some advice here:

PIII-1GHz 256 MB SDRAM w/Geforce II GTS Ultra 64MB

or

P4-1,4GHz 128 MB RDRAM w/Geforce II GTS 32MB

Both systems have mobo supporting AGP 4x and ATA-100, 40GB 7200rpm ATA-100 HD, 16x DVD, Soundblaster Live and 19" monitor.

There's no other choice (eg. AMD).

The only important thing I do on this computer is play UT

I would go first one. I't always best to have more RAM, especially for big HD (AND playing UT)

Actually for the same amount of money I would get an Athlon 1.2gig 256mb SDRAM and a GeForce2 Ultra. Faster than both of them.
But if for some odd reason you feel compelled to stick with intel, then go with the P3 combo. It will be faster overall.
