is there some reason why my computer would be
freezing up constantly

at least twice a day,pisses me off,
sometimes its while i am loading a server,
sometimes just when i am on winamp crankin
some 2pac

How long has it been since you last installed windows? Chances are, if you've been running an installation for an extended period of time that your registry has corrupted. I find that periodically rebuilding mine fixes a lot of dumb little lockups and other transient errors, like Windows hanging at the shutdown screen.
