Topic: Can't play LAN game

I have a cable modem connected to my pc. And i'm sharing it to two other computers through the house. ever since i got the cable modem i can't join in LAN games. I can see the games going on, but no net speed is showing and when i try it says can't connect to server. Same thing happens if they try and join me. No net speed and can't join in. The other 2 people can join and make the games just fine. I just can't play! Any ideas? I've tried messing with the protocols for my NIC that is connected to the LAN but still no go.Help me! Make sure you are all running the same version of Halflife. I have seen this before on my LAN and it works fine if I go to the OPF icon and then custom game > uninstall then multiplayer > LAN or internet > join or creat game. BUT if I start in regular Halflife I can't connect to a LAN game and the other computers can't join my games>>> weird ain't it?IP: Logged |

I don't have the uninstall option in the game under custom game. I can't even uninstall op force game cause it says it can't find the install.log file. this game is screwy.....badly put together i think.IP: Logged |

Hmm I have uninstalled and reinstalled my OP4 without any problems...------------------

Maybe you should try deactivate after starting from the OP4 icon. then you can use Halflife multiplayer. If that doesn't work, backup your maps, wipe the HL directory and reinstall...------------------

As soon as I installed patch 1.0.1.6, I had the same problem.After the problem, I reinstalled HL with patch 1.0.1.0 and it worked again. Then I installed 1.0.1.6, and it broke (my friends could join from the net, but I couldn't. 1.0.1.6 is BROKE! I sent an email to Sierra tonight. IP: Logged |
