All right, lets have a civilized debate about this q3 vs UT thing.IMO, both games are fun games to play. First of all I never was a quake fan, due to the very first game where the game control was not that good. I stuck more to games such as the Descent series. I'll admit, I played alot of the q3 demo, probably too much, until I was introduced to the UT Demo. I then bought UT because I enjoyed it alot more then q3, the controls were better, the weapons were different and more fun to use. I might buy q3, for the hell of it, say when it gets down to a resonable price of say 10 bucks. I can't see myself paying money for something that I'd seldom play due to the fact that it gets old. There is no strategy. Granted Unreal does have some problems with it, I'd much rather prefer to play something where the game in the level is different every time, rather then doing endless pointless frag fests. Well said, grasshopper. Quake is good for the people who like to point and click for a kill. Then there's UT, which requires tactics, and is much more balanced as far as weapons and such. Another thing about Q3A that pisses me off is the BFG. They totally fucked it up. It's supposed to be a big BOOM gun, not a superpowered plasma gun. id has corrupted it... Q3A is no longer pure...------------------ "A nerd is someone whose life revolves around computers and technology... a geek is someone whose life revolves around computers and technology, and likes it!" Yes. Like Raptor, I was once hooked on Q3. I think I played it for at least 2 or 3 hours a day (schedule-permitting) during the week, and averaged around 10-15 hours on the weekends. It wasn't until early December that one of my coworkers introduced me to UT CTF. And from there I found myself playing more and more UT, until around Christmas time I purchased the game. I admit, Q3 is fun to play (I still play online wih the demo), but it is UT's CTF which has me captured. Yes I get wasted by 6 rockets sometimes, and from the redeemer, but it's the challenge of trying to escape with the flag that makes the game fun.I'm not bashing Q3, I'm just saying that the features UT has to offer make playing it more rewarding and worthwhile.
